We were able to update an existing, well-known logo with approachable typography and the addition of another person to better capture their purpose.
Embrace is a nonprofit that provides programs for children affected by disabilities and their families located in Dover, Delaware. The organization came to us looking for an updated visual identity and website. Through the discovery process we mapped out the existing pain points and solutions, fundraising goals, and overall digital and print needs.
The existing logo needed a major update without losing the core, beloved elements. An additional figure was added to better communicate that the organization serves the entire family, and more legible and softer typography was introduced. Along with the primary logo and submark, program logos were also updated to match the new visual direction, such as with the after care program. Custom illustrations play an important communication role within promotional graphics and print collateral, working to convey the right tone and overall feelings to expect when choosing this community.
The primary issues we set out to solve with the new site is ensuring the mission is clear, programs descriptions are easy to find, and logistics are spelled out to reduce volume of simple inquiries. The custom site was integrated into WordPress so that all staff and board members can make edits with ease. We added photos throughout the site so visitors can see the impact Embrace has and better imagine themselves as part of the experience. Through content strategy we were able to identify major gaps within the previous site and collaborate on entirely new copy for greater impact.
This project will always hold a special place in our hearts and we’re looking forward to a long relationship as the organization’s mission grows and design needs evolve.
